Angel Tree, Silver Bells, and Shining Stars.

Christmas Assistance Registration

Angel Tree – Provides gifts for children ages 12 and under.
Silver Bells – Provides gift cards to seniors 62 and over.
Shining Stars – Provides gift cards to individuals between 13–61 years of age with a disability.


There will be a LIMITED number of spots for families (with children 12 and under) to sign up for Christmas assistance this year so please get your applications in early. Once the spots are full, we will stop accepting applications for Angel Tree gifts for children. This DOES NOT include Silver Bells or Shining Star clients, please make sure to use the correct link for the appropriate program (descriptions below) to fill out an online pre-registration form. If you are applying for Silver Bell or Shining Star and were approved for one of these programs last year, you will NOT be required to come in-person to present your documents to be approved this year.

  • You will be asked to create a username and login, which can only be used to input a single application and will allow you to log back in at any time to make changes or check the status of your application.
  • IMPORTANT: Make sure to include your phone number and Email address in order to receive future communication about your application, this is the only way to find out about the next step in the process.
  • Once your application request is complete, you will be contacted via text or email by The Salvation Army with information about your in-person interview, which is when you will provide all your documents to show you qualify.

To show that you qualify for Christmas assistance, you will need to provide the following (ALL programs) at your in-person interview:
ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE CURRENT

  1. Valid Photo ID
  2. Social Security/W-7 number, or Consulate card/Passport number as an individual identifier ONLY.
  3. Current lease, utility bill or mail received from school/government in August or September

AND must provide ONE of the following (proof of need) in the applicant’s name:

  1. Current Food and Nutrition Services approval letter
  2. Current free school lunch direct approval letter (not due to attendance at a Title 1 school)
  3. SSI approval letter (not social security payment) to qualify for Shining Star
  4. 2024 tax return, pay stub with year-to-date income shown, or notarized proof of your monthly income from your employer

(ANGEL TREE ONLY) For each child being registered:

  1. Birth Certificates AND Social Security card/Consulate card
  2. Official custody or guardianship papers if applicant is not the biological parent
  3. Three gift selections under $50, clothing sizes, and a book preference

IMPORTANT: Save or print out the confirmation page with your CLT ID ### as proof your application is complete and was successfully submitted. Once your application has been entered, you will be required to come in-person to provide documents, you will NOT be uploading them this year. At your interview, after providing the documents we need, you will be given your date for pick-up of your gifts (Angel Tree). Gift cards for Silver Bell and Shining Star recipients will be mailed out the week of December 15th.

Once you have entered an application, do not enter another application for the same program. Log back in to update your information by selecting Returning User.
